💡 HELLO WONDERFUL TAs! Here is a guide for grading these super awesome final projects.
PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRELY BEFORE YOU START GRADING, there are some kind of wacky rules to follow to make sure everyone is largely consistent. As with the homeworks, focus on feedback and growth as opposed to points! (But, also points, since those are important i guess . . )
****Our grading table from last semester is at the bottom of the doc under a dropdown for reference! Feel free to DM or thread with any Qs.

Grading Scale
Out of 50 total points
- 35 points — Final Product Completion
- Completion of all tasks based on the prompt criteria (listed below)
- Dock if they didn't fulfill requirements
- ex: only included 2 types of prototyping triggers
- 10 points — Design Process
- Writeup contents (or process notes within file) that explain their process
- Things to look out for
- User research (!!) like surveys, interviews, even just detailing personal exp
- Initial drafts, sketches
- Discussion of decisions, problems, etc
- Dock for lack of insight into design process or restaurant
- 5 points — Effort/flair
- Extra room for quality of work, exploration, etc
- Doesn't mean someone needs to go super beyond to get full points
- Would dock from here if there is clearly low effort, especially compared to what you've seen from the student
Criteria
- 1. 📐 Auto Layout (open for info)
- 2. 💠 Variants (open for info)
- 3. 🕹 Prototyping (open for info)
- 4. 🖌 Illustration (open for info)
Lateness
Same deduction as homework — if late, give 70% of points
When is something late??? DON'T TRUST BCOURSES
- If a student got an extension, they should have DM'd you. Check your messages to see what student extensions were given.
- Only dock for lateness if something is submitted AFTER 1 SLIP DAY
- We count the slip day on the midterm first by default — we'll figure out the final scoring things after the final is submitted
- If no extension, count late if submitted after 11:59 PM on Tuesday, 10/19
- If yes extension, count late if submitted after 11:59 the day AFTER the extension end
- Based on checking the midterm grading, I can't actually tell which students use slip days vs who received extensions — only one student had the added slip day comment that was part of the midterm grading instructions
- Because of this I really have no idea how to enforce slip day usage. It is up to you.
- If you do recall which of your students used slip days, check if they are also using it on their final. If needed, modify their midterm score to be late graded and use the slip day on their final instead to maximize their points.
Process
- Same as grading homeworks! Input directly on bCourses.
- Strongly recommend writing your feedback on a separate doc first
