Hello,
Hope you had a lovely Halloweekend 🎃 This week we're diving into my personal favorite lecture, and I'm excited for you all to start thinking about the final (!!!) project!
=====
Do you want to get more practice with interactivity and fine tune your prototyping skills after week 8? Join in on the Figma Prototype Challenge, a 15 day activity to learn and practice with other designers, hosted by Designer Advocate Ana Boyer. Check out Day 1: Smart Animate on Community, and watch #figmaprototypechallenge on Twitter.
With the end of the semester about a month away, we're introducing the final project today. As you might know or have guessed, the final is a very open-ended project, where you decide what you want to do. You can find more on our course site (bit.ly/figmadecal) by the end of the day.
This week we've got a big topic — illustration! If you enjoyed week 4's pen tool or have always wanted to draw, this one's for you. (If you didn't, well, hey, we hope you'll still learn something!) We'll be diving into some art and design theory as well as brushing up on some mechanical skills.
Something a little different! This week's lab and homework and combined, and they're partially a group activity. In lab, you'll be brainstorming with your teammates on a collaborative layout for a food (or anything, really) illustration. Then, for homework, you'll each illustrate a unique variant set that is added to the collaborative layout!
As always, our Slack Community is open — join through this link! If you haven't already, please introduce yourself in our #welcome channel 💛
